Sr.IT Project Manager

Job Objective

Assist and support the business in achieving key business objectives by effectively managing key IT projects within stipulated timelines, budget and constraints ensuring the achievement of overall IT strategic objectives

Job responsibilities

• Monitor, track and report performance against strategic initiatives
• Tracking adherence to the approved project budget
• Preparing the budget for the projects
• Plan and forecast CAPEX requirement for specific projects to support annual business planning
• Execute strategic initiatives
• Deliver approved projects as per Business Case time, budget and scope.
• Provide help in establishing general project goals and objectives and develop detailed timelines for IT projects
• Define detailed work packages
• Manage the technical evaluations in collaboration with team
• Contribute to the formulation of Business cases to Management for approval of IT Projects
• Issue purchase requests and reconcile Purchase Orders
• Facilitate settlement and billing of purchases and project related expenses through collaboration with internal divisions
• Perform vendor management for the delivery of efficient solutions and projects
• Establish steering committee for each project and ensure the project decisions are made with appropriate governance
• Effectively lead and monitor all assigned projects, benchmark planned vs actual scope, time and budget for all projects in the department and highlight improvement areas to management in a consolidated manner regularly
• Undertake detailed analysis to perform Asset capitalisation
• Assist in improving policies, processes, systems and structural programs and procedures covering all individual Functional activities
• Serve as a subject matter expert in own work area / sub-function / function and provide guidance to team / peers and support in the achievement of operational targets
• Undertake initiatives to improve processes in assigned area of work
• Guide team / peers in meeting delivery timelines and performance expectations
• Ensure that team / peers adhere to company policies and legal regulations
• Take ownership for attending the trainings as per the plan
• Take ownership for completing PMR process, employee engagement surveys in time
• Continuously share the knowledge and understanding of the telecom industry and business trends
• Provide relevant information to address employee queries related to functional area
• Motivate and build a healthy work environment within the team. Provide support in resolving work related / other concerns in an effective manner

Profile 1:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology or related domains from an internationally recognized University.
• 4-7 years of Telecommunication experience, with a substantial proportion gained in a telecommunications business environment (supervisory role)
• Project management knowledge & skills
• >2 years of experience as first line manager of a team that deliver network solutions (supervisory role)
• Certificate in Project management from an internationally recognized institution is required.
• Membership of a relevant, and internationally recognized, professionally body is preferred.

Profile 2:

• Master’s degree in Technology or related domains from an internationally recognized University.
• 3-6 years of Telecommunication experience, with a substantial proportion gained in a telecommunications business environment (supervisory role)
• Project management knowledge & skills
• Certificate in Project management from an internationally recognized institution is required.
• Membership of a relevant, and internationally recognized, professionally body is preferred.
