Job Description

Job Objective

Responsible to lead the establishment and the execution of the strategic direction and roadmap for the, implementation, operation, maintenance and support of the entire IT Infrastructure and application solutions covering IT Operations, Applications Support and Infrastructure Support in line with Batelco’s corporate objectives and strategies

 

Main Responsibility

Strategic

  • Identify strategic initiatives for IT operations and contribute to the overall strategic initiatives for the function aligned to the Organization Strategy
  • Drive the strategic initiatives for IT operations
  • Monitor performance against the set KPIs

Financial

  • Work closely with GM IT to prepare Capex and Opex budget for IT Operations
  • Prepare and monitor adherence to the budget for IT operations
  • Analyse deviations and take corrective course of action
  • Identify and drive cost optimisation initiatives for IT operations

Operations

  • Lead IT applications operations management and align operation/support action plans with Corporate, Business strategies and objectives
  • Manage IT infrastructure architecture, design, delivery and operations management
  • Ensure service transition excellence including acceptance and deployment of release packages from delivery teams into Production
  • Manage E2E Services and Assurance including Capacity planning, lifecycle management and Incident and Problem Management
  • Manage the engagement of application support and Infrastructure partners
  • Lead application operations (L1, L2) of all IT Applications
  • Manage Production Environments and monitor the agreed SLAs/OLAs and report on overall service performance and quality
  • Plan and manage the acquisition, utilization, and disposal of resources; make the best utilisation of assigned resources, their skills and experiences in achieving the department objectives in an efficient and effective manner
  • Drive the implementation of data and content administration; lead the management, retention, revision and retirement of enterprise information
  • Monitor adherence to procedures and controls at each sub-functional process, such that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service to internal customers
  • Identify opportunities and redesign policies, processes, systems / structural programs and procedures for continuous improvement, covering all individual Functional activities
  • Ensure that information required by internal and external auditors provided within stipulated timelines and monitor coordination and resolution of all audit related issues

People

  • Identify training needs and nominate team members for training programs
  • Ensure timely completion of PMR process for self and the department
  • Continuously share the knowledge and understanding of the telecom industry and business trends
  • Ensure active participation in employee engagement surveys

 

Qualifications

Profile 1

  • A Graduate degree in Computer Engineering/ IT / Computer Science or related domains from an internationally recognized University is a must
  • >12 years of IT experience, with a substantial proportion gained in a telecommunications business environment
  • 4-7 years of experience as first line manager of a team that deliver IT applications
  • Membership of a relevant and internationally recognized, professional body preferred

 

Profile 2

  • A Post-Graduate degree in Computer Engineering/ IT / Computer Science or related domains from an internationally recognized University is a must
  • >10 years of IT experience, with a substantial proportion gained in a telecommunications business environment
  • 3-5 years of experience as first line manager of a team that deliver IT applications
  • Membership of a relevant and internationally recognized, professional body preferred
