Data Scientist

Job Objective 

Develop sophisticated Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics solutions that deliver business value. Oversee the design and delivery of statistical models, data visualization, machine learning capabilities that support business outcomes. Apply scientific method and data science toolkit to address business problems. Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective collaboration with stakeholders. This role is ideal for candidates with strong, hands-on skills in data mining, machine learning, and predictive modeling.

Responsibilities

Strategic 

 Primary Responsibilities Strategic • Demonstrate a high level of mathematical and statistical literacy and an interest in applying quantitative analysis to real-world problems.
• Design and implement machine learning capabilities to achieve business objetcives.
• Ability to draw strategic and operational insights from internal and external data and clearly communicate business insights to business users.

Financial

• Implement predictive models and algorithms to address business problems and enhance key performance indictaors.
• Develop data flows and predictive models based on customer behavior analysis.
• Communicate insights and propose solutions to internal clients for improving business performance.

Operational 

Operational • Expertise in Feature Engineering, Model Training and Model Evaluation in addition to data wrangling.
• Experience with machine learning including supervised and unsupervised models
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for data processing and statistical modelling.
• Comfortable writing complex SQL queries to extract and integrate data from multiple database sources
• Strong in data validation and cross referencing data from multiple sources

People

People • Able to converse in business terms when presenting analyses to business users.
• Work closely with stakeholders and contribute towards building optimal business solutions
• Develop strong working relationship with IT and technology vendors/systems integrators.
• Ensure high levels of stakeholder satisfaction with Data & Analytics deliverables.

Qualification 

•  Bachelor's degree in computer or data science, Applied Mathematics.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, or Machine Learning Engineer.
• Experience in using advanced analytics tools such as Alteryx, Dataiku, Sagemaker.
• Membership of relevant professional organizations is preferred.
